Gaza Flotilla: Israel fell for martyrdom plans hook, line and sinker

Elements of the pro-Palestinian activists expressed their desire for confrontation with the Israelis and martyrdom. Here is an interview with a woman on board before the killings. She says:

Right now we face one of two happy endings: either Martyrdom or reaching Gaza

Here is Hamas TV - Al-Aqsa yesterday on 30th March

The [Gaza] flotilla commander said yesterday: "We will not allow the Zionists to get near us and we will use resistance against them." ... They are people who seek Martyrdom for Allah, as much as they want to reach Gaza, but the first [Martyrdom] is more desirable"

Deadly confrontation had been planned, wished for, by elements on the Gaza flotilla; Israel fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Update: Iain Dale (surprisingly) has surmised my thoughts quite nicely here

What a silly post. Israel boarded as this was necessary and fully justified. Those who wanted to die, died: that's several antisemites fewer in the world. Win-win, I'd say.

Where to to start Ann?

Win-win? Virtually unanimous condemnation worldwide. That's not a win.

10 people dead, and hatred towards Jews and Israel will increase. Israel gave the militant or shaheed types exactly what they wanted.

Lose-lose for Israel.
